Bisztynek Municipality

An urban-rural municipality in the southern part of Bartoszyce County, in the Warmia-Masuria Voivodeship. The municipality covers 203.55 km² and has 6,198 residents (2024, Statistics Poland). The seat of the authorities is the town of Bisztynek, whose town charter dates back to 1385. The municipality has a typically agricultural character with a well-developed network of small localities.

This local government takes part in the shared territorial strategy of the borderland through 2030 and in the CuRI 2026–2027 programme (Eastern Border Regions Catching-up Regions Initiative, European Commission + World Bank).
