Górowo Iławeckie Municipality

A rural municipality in the northern part of the Warmia-Masuria Voivodeship, in Bartoszyce County, directly bordering the Kaliningrad Oblast of the Russian Federation. The municipality covers 416.27 km² and has 6,088 residents (2024, Statistics Poland). It accounts for 31.81% of Bartoszyce County’s area — the largest unit in the county by area. The seat of the authorities is in the town of Górowo Iławeckie (which is itself a separate urban municipality).

Head of municipality (Wójt): Krzysztof Baran (term 2024–2029)

Krzysztof Baran was elected head of the municipality in the 2024 local elections (Krzysztof Baran local electoral committee), succeeding the previous head, Bożena Olszewska-Świtaj.
